Our Heritage and Inspiration
Arrowhead Medical Supply (AMS) is deeply rooted in the legacy of Roy Montour, the father of our founder Wayne Montour. Roy Montour was a proud member of the Mohawks of Kahnawake, born in Buffalo, NY, in 1925. His rich heritage and dedication to his community have significantly influenced the values and direction of Arrowhead.
Roy enlisted in the Army Air Corp at the age of 17, serving his country from August 1943 to October 1945. After his military service, he worked at Bethlehem Steel and General Motors, where he was elevated to maintenance foreman. His expertise and post-GM education led him to establish Arrowhead Refrigeration, a business that served local hotel chains by repairing air conditioners and ice makers. Though Arrowhead Refrigeration operated for about a decade, it left a lasting impact, and the name “Arrowhead” continues to honor his memory and contributions.
